I just had a home inspection with Chuck, and he was great. He was very thorough and explained everything clearly as he went through the house. He answered all my questions, pointed out things I wouldn't have noticed, and even offered to look up additional info afterward. He made the process easy to understand and much less stressful. I'd definitely recommend Chuck to anyone buying a home.

Chuck is great to work with. He's inspected two houses my husband and I have offered on and his report saved us from investing in a home with serious water problems in the basement, and helped us feel reassured about the second home we offered on. He's also taught me a lot, and as a new homeowner, that's especially valuable! Thanks Chuck!

Chuck is amazing! First time meeting him and it felt like you knew him forever! Replied quickly and was able to get me within short notice. Did a septic inspection for me and was very knowledgeable within the field. Would highly recommend him to anyone doing a home/septic inspection.

Chuck was amazing. Meeting him for the first time he demonstrated a great deal of knowledge with home inspections. He explained what he was looking at. What was problematic and of no concern. He took his time and was very thorough. He answered all the questions we had and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole inspection.

As first-time home buyers, we really appreciated how thorough Chuck was with our inspection. He explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and made the process easy to understand. He even got us scheduled the very next day after we called. Highly recommend Above Grade Home Inspections!

In the Area
When a Town of Wappinger home on a private well is for sale, the town's records check, called the municipal search, requires a current well test. Only results the lab sends directly to the town count. Ask the seller early whether a current well test is already on file with the town.

Questions
Home inspection, septic system inspection, radon testing, well water testing, sewer camera inspection, underground utility locating, termite inspection, and chimney inspection.
The Village of Wappingers Falls softens its water at the plant, and the water leaving its plant measured 161 mg/L of sodium in February 2025. Ask the seller whether the house runs a second softener of its own.
Work done without a permit and found at sale costs a $250 compliance fee on top of the permit fee, and the town allows no grandfathering. Pull the town's permit file for the house before you list or sign.
Wood and pellet stove inserts count as mechanical equipment in the Town of Wappinger and need a permit. One put in without a permit shows up as a violation at sale. Ask the seller for the permit on any stove insert in the house.
The town's 2025 Comprehensive Plan update repeats its finding that much of the town has soils poorly suited to septic systems. Those soils drain poorly, so wastewater from a leaching field soaks in slowly. Ask the seller whether the septic system has ever been redesigned or replaced.
