I just had a home inspection with Chuck, and he was great. He was very thorough and explained everything clearly as he went through the house. He answered all my questions, pointed out things I wouldn't have noticed, and even offered to look up additional info afterward. He made the process easy to understand and much less stressful. I'd definitely recommend Chuck to anyone buying a home.

Chuck is great to work with. He's inspected two houses my husband and I have offered on and his report saved us from investing in a home with serious water problems in the basement, and helped us feel reassured about the second home we offered on. He's also taught me a lot, and as a new homeowner, that's especially valuable! Thanks Chuck!

Chuck is amazing! First time meeting him and it felt like you knew him forever! Replied quickly and was able to get me within short notice. Did a septic inspection for me and was very knowledgeable within the field. Would highly recommend him to anyone doing a home/septic inspection.

Chuck was amazing. Meeting him for the first time he demonstrated a great deal of knowledge with home inspections. He explained what he was looking at. What was problematic and of no concern. He took his time and was very thorough. He answered all the questions we had and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole inspection.

As first-time home buyers, we really appreciated how thorough Chuck was with our inspection. He explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and made the process easy to understand. He even got us scheduled the very next day after we called. Highly recommend Above Grade Home Inspections!

In the Area
Here, the homeowner owns the whole water service line, from the main in the street to the house. A leak, a break, or an old lead pipe anywhere on that run is the owner's to fix. In October 2024, the city mailed notices saying it had not yet identified what some service lines are made of. Before you buy, ask the seller what the line to the house is made of.

Questions
Home inspection, septic system inspection, radon testing, well water testing, sewer camera inspection, underground utility locating, termite inspection, and chimney inspection.
No, the city is fully sewered, and all of the city's wastewater goes to its treatment plant. A home there normally has a sewer line running to the street, not a septic tank. Find out how old the line to the street is, and have a sewer camera inspection show its condition.
During the 2025 drought, Beacon's water system had minor water use restrictions. Watch for city notices on water use before planning a new lawn or garden in a dry summer.
The city's 2025 testing detected one, PFBA, at 2.03 parts per trillion in October, and the city's water had no violations that year. Check the city's next yearly report to see whether PFBA turns up again.
Yes, in the storm of December 17 and 18, 2023, at least 19 basements in the city had to be pumped out. Check for a working sump pump and water marks on the basement walls.
