I just had a home inspection with Chuck, and he was great. He was very thorough and explained everything clearly as he went through the house. He answered all my questions, pointed out things I wouldn't have noticed, and even offered to look up additional info afterward. He made the process easy to understand and much less stressful. I'd definitely recommend Chuck to anyone buying a home.

Chuck is great to work with. He's inspected two houses my husband and I have offered on and his report saved us from investing in a home with serious water problems in the basement, and helped us feel reassured about the second home we offered on. He's also taught me a lot, and as a new homeowner, that's especially valuable! Thanks Chuck!

Chuck is amazing! First time meeting him and it felt like you knew him forever! Replied quickly and was able to get me within short notice. Did a septic inspection for me and was very knowledgeable within the field. Would highly recommend him to anyone doing a home/septic inspection.

Chuck was amazing. Meeting him for the first time he demonstrated a great deal of knowledge with home inspections. He explained what he was looking at. What was problematic and of no concern. He took his time and was very thorough. He answered all the questions we had and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole inspection.

As first-time home buyers, we really appreciated how thorough Chuck was with our inspection. He explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and made the process easy to understand. He even got us scheduled the very next day after we called. Highly recommend Above Grade Home Inspections!

In the Area
In Goshen, the water depends on the address. The village runs its own reservoir system, and the town runs one district made of four small well systems, each serving one neighborhood. Most homes outside those systems draw from bedrock wells, typically 160 to 420 feet deep. Ask the seller which water source serves the house.

Questions
Home inspection, septic system inspection, radon testing, well water testing, sewer camera inspection, underground utility locating, termite inspection, and chimney inspection.
In May 2019, the village board stopped taking new water or sewer hookups for properties outside its limits, until further notice. A house outside the village should expect to stay on its own well or a town system, so weigh that in the price.
The Town of Goshen's Hambletonian Park water district ran as high as 290 mg/L of sodium in 2025, against the 20 mg/L level New York flags for very low-sodium diets. If someone in the house watches their salt, ask the seller what the water is treated with.
Yes, the Arcadia Hills water system had an iron and manganese violation in the second quarter of 2025, limited to that quarter. Ask the seller whether the water has looked or tasted off since then.
In August 2024, an algae bloom and an equipment problem pushed village water past the state limit for cloudiness, and a boil water notice followed. If the house is on village water, ask the seller whether any boil notices have come since.
