I just had a home inspection with Chuck, and he was great. He was very thorough and explained everything clearly as he went through the house. He answered all my questions, pointed out things I wouldn't have noticed, and even offered to look up additional info afterward. He made the process easy to understand and much less stressful. I'd definitely recommend Chuck to anyone buying a home.

Chuck is great to work with. He's inspected two houses my husband and I have offered on and his report saved us from investing in a home with serious water problems in the basement, and helped us feel reassured about the second home we offered on. He's also taught me a lot, and as a new homeowner, that's especially valuable! Thanks Chuck!

Chuck is amazing! First time meeting him and it felt like you knew him forever! Replied quickly and was able to get me within short notice. Did a septic inspection for me and was very knowledgeable within the field. Would highly recommend him to anyone doing a home/septic inspection.

Chuck was amazing. Meeting him for the first time he demonstrated a great deal of knowledge with home inspections. He explained what he was looking at. What was problematic and of no concern. He took his time and was very thorough. He answered all the questions we had and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole inspection.

As first-time home buyers, we really appreciated how thorough Chuck was with our inspection. He explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and made the process easy to understand. He even got us scheduled the very next day after we called. Highly recommend Above Grade Home Inspections!

In the Area
In the part of Putnam Valley inside the New York City reservoir watershed, a town law requires every septic system to be inspected and pumped at least once every five years. A septic hauler licensed by Putnam County has to do it, and missing it can bring fines up to $1,000. The owner keeps the record for six years, so ask the seller for the latest one.

Questions
Home inspection, septic system inspection, radon testing, well water testing, sewer camera inspection, underground utility locating, termite inspection, and chimney inspection.
State agencies found PFAS above the state drinking water limit in private wells at 10 locations in the town, around Kramers Pond Road, Harimac Road, Dogwood Lane, and Briar Ridge Lane. The county told private well owners to test their own water. Ask the seller for any results.
The town's Glenmar Gardens water district, 25 homes on district wells, went over the state limit for PFOA, one of the forever chemicals, in 2025. Ask the seller whether the house is one of the 25 on district wells.
Yes. In a state survey from 2007, more than ten years ago, an estimated 45% of basements in the town tested above 4 pCi/L, the EPA's action level, against 32% countywide. Ask the seller whether the basement has been tested since then.
No, the town's state assemblyman says the lake communities lack sewers and many homes have outdated septic systems. The town itself sends pump-out reminder letters to Lake Peekskill homeowners. Ask the seller for the last letter the town sent.
