I just had a home inspection with Chuck, and he was great. He was very thorough and explained everything clearly as he went through the house. He answered all my questions, pointed out things I wouldn't have noticed, and even offered to look up additional info afterward. He made the process easy to understand and much less stressful. I'd definitely recommend Chuck to anyone buying a home.

Chuck is great to work with. He's inspected two houses my husband and I have offered on and his report saved us from investing in a home with serious water problems in the basement, and helped us feel reassured about the second home we offered on. He's also taught me a lot, and as a new homeowner, that's especially valuable! Thanks Chuck!

Chuck is amazing! First time meeting him and it felt like you knew him forever! Replied quickly and was able to get me within short notice. Did a septic inspection for me and was very knowledgeable within the field. Would highly recommend him to anyone doing a home/septic inspection.

Chuck was amazing. Meeting him for the first time he demonstrated a great deal of knowledge with home inspections. He explained what he was looking at. What was problematic and of no concern. He took his time and was very thorough. He answered all the questions we had and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole inspection.

As first-time home buyers, we really appreciated how thorough Chuck was with our inspection. He explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and made the process easy to understand. He even got us scheduled the very next day after we called. Highly recommend Above Grade Home Inspections!

In the Area
The state's 2022 Sparkill Creek flood study names high-risk areas elsewhere in Orangetown, including Sparkill, Tappan, and Orangeburg, but none in this part of the town. Ask the seller whether the house has ever taken on water in a storm.

Questions
Home inspection, septic system inspection, radon testing, well water testing, sewer camera inspection, underground utility locating, termite inspection, and chimney inspection.
A 2014 Rockland County Times report, more than ten years old, said almost every home in Orangetown drains to the town's sewer system and its treatment plant in Orangeburg. Ask the seller when the line to the street was last cleared.
Most of Orangetown outside the Nyacks gets its water from Veolia, which blends about 60 wells with Lake DeForest and the Letchworth reservoirs. A 2004 state assessment, more than ten years old, rated the Pearl River well as highly vulnerable to nitrates and solvents, a risk rating rather than a test result. Ask the seller whether the house has a filter on its water line.
In the state's 2007 survey, now more than ten years old, about 11% of Orangetown basements tested above 4 pCi/L, the EPA's action level, against 15% across Rockland County. Ask the seller for a recent radon test.
No. That well is one of about 60 that Veolia blends with its reservoirs, so no house drinks from that well alone. Read Veolia's newest yearly water report.
